The Ericsson R380 is 15 years old it came out in 2000
The Ericsson R380 might not look special but it was
it wasn't designed as a fashion phone (like the tiny Nokia 8210 80 grams)
with a bulky frame of 164 grams and 26 mm thick it was designed as a business (brick)
But The Ericsson R380 has a secret its a smartphone and it can open
Yes that is a large touch display (not the 1st touch screen phone though that would be the ibm simon)
And was the first device to use the new Symbian OS. (Nokia fans)
$700 in 2000
The Ericsson R380 is A combined mobile phone and personal organizer, It also has a WAP 1.2.1 browser and the Ericsson R380 could receive and send emails .
you can write short notes directly on the screen for later reference – Ink notes.
with a full qwerty on screen key board
R380 was the ideal business tool.
Despite the sophisticated user interface (in 2000) , users could not install their own software on the device.
The phone and the software was developed at Ericsson's lab in Kista, Sweden. The UI was developed at Ericsson's Software Applications Laboratory in Warrington, UK. The UI was built using an in-house developed library called the Ericsson Control Kit (ECK).
it also has
Organizer
- holds 99 contacts
- Voice dial
- Voice answer
- Voice memo
- Calculator
This was one of the best smartphones in 2000 it can be thought of as one of the phones that inspired the apple iPhone

The Nokia N70 is 10 years old
Every one wanted this phone
solid construction metal trim
with its 3G video calling front facing camera Bluetooth and a memory card
2 mega pixel with flash and protective camera lens cover but has no auto focus
The phone can record videos but at a resolutionof just 352 × 288 pixels, which is four times more than most camera phones could do for 2005
The bad thing of the Nokia N70 was the small keyboard
it was released with the price of 500 euros
The N70 is bulky 109mm x 53 x 24mm (its more hen 3 times as thick as a iphone 6) and weight of 126 grams but at the time wasn't bulky considering its an early 3G phone

The 3310 is known for having many features that were rare for the time.
These include many utilities, such as a
calculator,
stop watch and a
reminder function.
It has four games:
Pairs II, Space Impact, Bantumi, and the hugely popular Snake II. The Snake series of games had been popular on Nokia handsets since the late 1990s.
The 3310 was popular for SMS text messaging because it allowed long messages at 459 characters. The phone also has
voice dialing for the quick dialing of selected numbers.

The Nokia 3310 can be customized with interchangeable covers, and thousands of different designs have been produced by various companies .
i saw slide down covers flip open covers or a gold cover
It also has over 35 ringtones built in (were other phones had 5 ringtones) with space for seven custom tones. These can either be downloaded, or can be composed by the user using the tone composer. The phone has different "profiles" which can adjust the phone to different sets of preferences. For example, there is silent mode where the phone will not ring, useful for situations where it is inappropriate to do so. Screensavers can be made from received picture messages.
